The Path to Victory

Steve will win the Third Congressional District; in fact, he just did.

In the recent special election for U.S. Senate, Steve beat America’s most popular celebrity-politician, Cory Booker, by more than 8 points in NJ-3.

On November 4, 2014, Steve will beat the Democrat candidate by an even wider margin.

Steve’s career in public service began when he won three consecutive terms as Mayor of Bogota, a town that voted for Barack Obama by more than 2 to 1. During Steve’s tenure, the GOP kept council control for 11 consecutive years by fighting to keep taxes below inflation, working to eliminate wasteful spending, and even taking on statewide issues like Governor McGreevey’s gasoline tax.

Not content to rest on his laurels – but with limited resources – Steve took his message of individual liberty, limited government, and economic opportunity to the statewide campaign trail, most recently when he shocked the nation by slashing a 35 point deficit to 10 points in only 9 weeks.

Now, Steve stands ready to win a seat in the House of Representatives from the Third District – an area of the the state he’s won twice in the last 6 months.

In fact, Steve’s performance in NJ-3 exceeded the performances of Rep. Jon Runyan in 2010 and 2012 as well as Gov. Mitt Romney in 2012.

How did he do it?

Over the years, Steve has proven that he’ll work harder than any other candidate. His efforts – year in and year out – have earned him extremely high name ID and loyal grassroots support that no other candidate could earn or build by November.

Moreover, Steve’s command of the issues, report with the media, and attention to constituent concerns are unparalleled in the field of potential adversaries.

Most importantly, Steve cultivated 25,000 active donors who thought so highly of his message and his principled positions, that they contributed to his Senate campaign. Many are ready to contribute again and finally send Steve to Washington to be a voice for individual liberty.

The November 4th mid-term elections should turn decidedly Republican across the country, but only if the candidates we nominate in competitive districts like NJ-3 are ready to run and prepared to win. Steve Lonegan has proven that he is both.
